Educational Opportunities
- Computer classes are offered for residents who are interested in
learning more about computer setup, software, the internet, e-mail,
programs or games. The popular Thursday morning session is led by
our Information Services Coordinator Jim Semenas and participants
come for the fellowship and fun as well as for the new skills they
are learning!
- Learning in Retirement, sponsored by the
University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, is available to Evergreen residents at no cost.
Several sessions each semester are held right here at Evergreen.
- The Evergreen Writers meet monthly to share their love of writing and to learn from one
another. Stories, articles, poetry,
and letters read aloud are followed by a critique of strengths
and weaknesses and suggestions for improvement. Pieces are submitted to the Evergreen Green Leaves
newsletter, local newspapers, and magazines for publication consideration.
- Presentations that relate to health, safety, and other educational topics are offered on a regular basis.
Fine Entertainment

- Supper with the Chef is one of the most popular evenings.
The culinary skills of Evergreen chefs are mirrored and projected
for all to see. Residents, families and friends enjoy viewing the
demonstration and of course the fine meal that is prepared!
- Music in the Garden is held weekly during the summer in the
beauty of our own outdoor Garden Grove.
- Grand Afternoons offer entertainment on the grand piano in the Fireside Lounge.
Special Events
- Evenings of Special Dining and Entertainment feature meals such as the Fish and Chicken Buffet, a Hawaiian Luau,
an Italian Night, or Germanfest with varied entertainment such as song and dance show choirs, polka bands, or even
our own Evergreen resident and staff talent show.
-
The Ladies'
Red Hat Society of Evergreen meets regularly for lunch at a variety
of locations and enjoys many other activities together. One of most
popular was a "slumber party" at the home of one of our Village
residents!
- The Red Suspenders Club offers fun group activities for all male residents.
Field trips are most popular as the group travels by Evergreen bus
to visit local attractions and businesses.
- The "World of Thanks" Annual Recognition Event celebrates and thanks residents, staff, volunteers and donors
for their support and dedication to Evergreen.
- Bingo, dominoes, cards and other games are scheduled regularly for the enjoyment of all residents.
For current special activities and those that are open to the
public, see the Calendar. |
