The Evergreen Foundation is pleased to announce that funding for the purchase of three Reclining High-back Wheelchairs has been provided by the Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocate for Older Adults Fund within the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.
Evergreen currently has six high back wheelchairs in use in our skilled nursing facility. With this generous gift from the Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocate for Older Adults Fund within the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation we have purchased three additional high-back wheelchairs to help meet increased needs.
According to Evergreen Program Specialist Vanessa Frank, the availability of these wheelchairs will offer residents improved opportunities to engage in day-to-day activities and allow opportunities for increased independence.
“Reclining high-back wheelchairs can be particularly beneficial for residents who need head and neck support, for tall residents or for those with postural challenges,” said Vanessa. “This style of wheelchair provides a preferred position for eating and performing activities of daily living as they offer a position for residents to comfortably participate in activities and socialization opportunities.”
Evergreen is grateful for this generous gift from the Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocate for Older Adults Fund within the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation. Vanessa summed it up well when she said, “I am very thankful for the generosity of the LBS:AOA for the gift of three reclining wheelchairs as the comfort and therapeutic value will make a positive difference in the lives of many residents over the next several years. It is reassuring for residents, families and staff alike to know that increased comfort and functionality will improve the quality of life for our residents.”

Evergreen is proud to again accept the honor of being named "The Best Senior Independent Living" and "The Best Assisted Living" communities in the recent readers' poll conducted by the Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper.
The value of a community is measured not only by the buildings and the amenities it offers. Evergreen understands the importance of MEANINGFUL PURPOSE for every individual - no matter how active or inactive, no matter talents or abilities, no matter how gifted or limited in capabilities. Evergreen staff work hard to help residents realize their meaningful purposes by offering a variety of opportunities for significant activities and interactions based on individual interests and circumstances.
The result ... "The Best" in the eyes of our customers!
