Spring is a time for new beginnings and a season of change. It is the return of the sun’s warmth, the renewal of life and the reappearance of green and color everywhere. Our Evergreen campus is no exception to this. The birds are chirping, the trees are budding, the flowers are blooming and we have two new beautiful permanent wooden art kiosks that have been added to our Garden Grove Courtyard.
Joshua Porior, a Life Scout from Troop 615 in Oshkosh, designed, built and installed two kiosks for the outdoor gardens as part of his Eagle Scout project, which display artwork from area high school students. This project combines his love of art and design, with a desire for giving back to the Evergreen community. Josh’s grandparents, Jack and Donna VanDerhei, were both residents of Evergreen, and the outdoor garden was an area where his grandma found much enjoyment. Tim and Michelle Rogers of CC&R Custom Cabinetry and Mike Tuchscherer of the Oshkosh Area School District assisted with the design and construction of the kiosks. Mrs. Linda Geffers, Art Department Chair at West High School, assisted Josh with gathering artwork.
We are very grateful to Josh and all those who were involved to help make these beautiful new additions to our garden and look forward to enjoying new art work each quarter as it is changed out.
